International Student Application Process ( Primary Care Paramedic Program)

- Driver’s Abstract
- Driver’s License (front & back) *
*Must be able to obtain a class 4 license in Canada.
- Proof of Language Proficiency (If necessary)
- High School Diploma & Transcripts
Must include the following classes. Grade 11 OR 12
- Academic English
- Academic Math
- Academic Biology OR Chemistry OR Physics.
Once everything is submitted and approved you will be scheduled for a virtual interview with our Admissions Advisor.
Transcript Validation
If you are submitting an international transcript as proof of meeting the educational prerequisites, your transcript will need to be validated by one of the member organizations of the Alliance of Credential Evaluation Services of Canada (ACESC).

Conditional Acceptance Documents
Once you have successfully completed your interview you will receive a conditional acceptance letter. This letter has important information on what you will need to get done for the start of your program:
- Seat Fee ($500.00) & signed seat confirmation form.
- Criminal Record Check & Vulnerable Sectors Search *
- Medavie HealthEd Medical Form
- Medavie HealthEd Immunization Form
- Nova Scotia’s Driver’s Medical *
- Complete class 4 written test and obtain a road test receipt *
- PC-PAT (Paramedic Candidate Physical Abilities Test) *

International Graduates in Demand Stream
The International Graduates in Demand stream is designed for international graduates who have recently completed their studies and possess skills that align with specific National Occupational Classifications. At Medavie HealthEd, we provide programs that cater to the NOC 32102 Paramedical Occupations.

English Language Proficiency
If English is not your first language you are required to demonstrate English proficiency, regardless of your country of origin or citizenship status.
You may be exempt from English language testing if you’ve successfully completed one of the following:
- Grade 12 in an English Canadian high school.
- One year of full-time study at an accredited English Canadian college or university.
English Competency Testing
If your first language isn’t English, you must submit official results of one of the following English competency tests. The test date must be less than two years prior to the date your application is submitted to be considered official.
- International English Language Testing Systems (IELTS Academic Test) – minimum overall score of 7.0 and 7.0 on each band. (Listening, Reading, Writing, Speaking).
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) – minimum test scores of 96 with no less than 24 in each band.

Tuition $23,056.26 CAD (inc. $500 non-refundable seat deposit)
